New Farm of the Month

Tomorrow I will head out to visit Myrtle at her sheep farm "Black Pines Sheep" in Eaton.  Myrtle and her husband, Roy, have a wonderful little sheep farm with a variety of breeds .  Tomorrow I will be able to see all the new babies for the year and pick up some wonderful spinning fibers for the shop.  I will only carry the fleece that has been cleaned, but if you want fiber in the raw you can contact them for availability.   Every year they trek to several fiber shows to sell their fleece and sheep.  I have bought several of her fleece for spinning and just love the feel of them.  Visit their website at BlackPinesSheep.com.  Hopefully I will remember to bring my camera so I can post pictures of our visit. Farm of the Month

Once every month or so I introduce a new local farm or ranch were I display and sell their yarns, fibers and finished pieces.  I've been doing this for a year and feel it is a wonderful way to get to know and appreciate our local ranchers/farmers.  Colorado has lots to offer the fiber enthusiats and keeping your purchases local helps out everyone in our community.  Our new ranch this month is "High Point Bison" located in Northern Colorado and Wyoming.  I will have yarn, fiber and finished pieces for sale.  You can even purchase the meat from them, brochures available.  After talking with family members on how they gather the fiber and the process of picking out the vegetable matter you will have a better appreciation for the luxury fiber.  Majority of the yarn I have is blended and lovely, but I do have 100% Bison fiber for spinning too.  Stop by to see the beautiful fiber and take some home with you.
